The hotel is located on the main road within walking distance into Ambleside. We had a room with a lake view which was on the small side, but it had a nice new bathroom. The view was lovely but the road is very busy and very noisy if you have the window open. We ate in the restaurant which we thought was over priced for the quality of food we had, the slow roasted vegetables were almost raw and the chicken was bland. The leisure facilities are very good. We got a good deal through Laterooms and would stay there again if we got the same rate. We stayed at The Famous Wild Boar Inn a couple of weeks ago, which is part of the group, which we would really recommend as the food there was excellent. |

For the price we paid I thought the room as rather small and the view onto the rear service yard was hardly inspiring, especially as I asked for a lake view on the booking form! apart from that I think the leisure facilities, food and customer service were all excellent. |

The hotel was so easy to find and had a great view over the Lake. The weather was not good, however we found we had plenty to do such as a freshing swim in the pool followed by a relaxing soak in the outdoor hot tub. The food choice was good including the Bistro which had a more casual atmosphere. |

Staff couldn't have been better. We loved our room and enjoyed making use of the leisure facilities. Although this hotel is on a busy road it didn't cause us any problems |
