The hotel was good value for a short break in the countryside. Reception staff were very couteous and professional. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The dinner menu (Sunday evening) was uninspiring - reminiscent of pub grub - nothing special but "ok". The dining room was magnificent but decoration looking a bit tired. A pity that people don't dress up a little for dinner these days. Oh well! Plenty of choice for breakfast but huge queues waiting to be seated on Monday morning and tables uncleared. Why do some staff refer to guests as "guys"?? Didn't have time to try the leisure facilities. Overall, good value if you can get a special offer. The cabaret weekends look good!

I would recomend this hotel a 100 times over, it was exceptional. what a beautiful place, seaped in history. I will definately be going again, there is so much to take in, infact my 24 year old daughter has booked a weekend and is so looking forward to it.
the breakfast was the best we have had anywhere, the staff were so friendly. six of us went and we will all be visiting again. There isn't one thing about this hotel that I can fault. Yes as you can tell I loved it!!!
