I was really dissapointed with this hotel, it is classed as a 5 star, i would say more a 3 star. The reception staff were quite rude and seemed always seemed busy, I think maybe a bigger reception area would be good. The communication was very poor, no one seemed to know what was going on. I asked to speak with the manager who refused to speak with me over an incident, very bad indeed.

On a Laterooms deal of circa £100 per night I rated this hotel highly in terms of value for money. I agree with some of the other comments, yes the decor looks quite dated, yes it's not really a five star but a four star plus. Only three drawbacks I came across. Firstly the TV had a mind of its own and switched itself off mid programme. Secondly it was impossible to get through to a member of staff when phoning ahead to say I would be arriving late (the automated system prevents this). Thirdly and most importantly there were some extremely loud people in the bar lounge area in the evening who were swearing profusely and no effort was made by the staff to ask them to desist. Given that other guests had children with them I thought this was out of order and not what I would expect from a five star hotel. All in all though I would rate this hotel quite highly and if the management could address some of the shortcomings I've mentioned they could be on their way to truly earning a five star rating.

Great location and was good to be upgraded to a larger room at no extra cost.. although I didn't like the fact that a used cotton bud was left on the toilet seat.. which was slightly a little disguisting, but thats my only complaint. Wife was very pleased with the beautician service in the basement and I was happy with the swimming pool.. but above all for 95 quid I would stay there again.
