Hotel was clean and professionally run. Spa and Pool staff and facilities were excellent. Room wasn't quite up to spec. Large Stain in bath (hidden by mat), light switch missing, rust around taps. This is a Manor and therefore you should expect the odd thing to be in need of repair, but the standards of staff and facilities were very high. I have had better value for money, but using the late rooms 50%+ discount certainly made up for the minuses. Would stay there again.

Didn't get to try the evening meal but the breakfast was well presented and tasted fab. Great rooms and a nice retreat for a romantic weekend. Definitely will come back. Staff very welcoming, couldn't fault them at all.

Although the room rate was acceptable the prices for drinks/food was expensive especially the breakfast which was just under £20 with the non compulsory service charge

I always read reviews before I book a hotel and I have heard many say "the room I booked online was not the room I received". Well until now I had never experienced that. I specifically booked an executive room online based on the description of the bathroom - was looking for a short break to get away & recharge. Upon checking in, seeing the room & realising not what I booked, I returned to reception. When I explained my dilemma the response I received was a short, snappy "oh, I"ll get onto our marketing department about that". Not exactly sincere or concerned. I asked for a room of like quality or monetary compensation on rate, was told all the rooms I had "booked" were already occupied so monetary compensation was agreed, begrudgingly by staff. I will admit the rooms are quite nice but as I rate my stay on the overall experience this really put me off from the start. As for the restaurant & room services, I feel that the differential between prices from sandwiches to mains for ex. wasn't logical - 14 pds for a sandwich and 16 pds for a main?? Value for money with food I felt was poor.

I booked in room only but decided to have breakfast in the morning - I was advised charge was £10.50 - OK, but when i checked out I was also charged a £1.30 discretionery service charge! £1.30 for someone to pour me a cup of coffee is outrageous.
