Once an elegant private house dating back to the 1830's, a long sweeping driveway and seven acres of landscaped gardens front the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel. The 129 non-smoking bedrooms, are furnished with a subtle blend of colours and maintain the atmosphere and appearance of a private house. The Vellore Restaurant, once a ballroom and host to the season's sparkling debutantes, offers traditional English fare in an elegant setting. The Alfresco Restaurant is the bustling colonnade restaurant, with views out across the formal garden. The style is less formal, eclectic and an oasis of enjoyment. A Mediterranean style menu is served. The Spa is a wonderful relaxing environment. The facilites include a 15m indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Infra Red Heat Cabin, Rock Sauna, Experience Showers, Ice room, Aroma Steam and Salt Infusion rooms and Hydrotherapy Pool. There are 5 beauty treatment rooms and a relaxation room. In the fully equipped gymnasium, qualified instructors are on hand to offer lifestyle consultations. They then design an exercise programme that's just right for you, which means you will get into shape at a pace that feels comfortable.And outside, during the summer months, you can challenge a partner to a game of croquet on the lawn. Policies - Beauty treatments should be booked prior to arrival to avoid disappointment.- Children may use the swimming pool in The Spa from 8 am until 7 pm - other facilites are not available for their use. Gentlemen are requested to wear a jacket for dinner at the weekends in the Vellore Restaurant. All bedrooms are non-smoking.

Delightfully positioned hotel, nice grounds, easy to walk into Bath. Staff very friendly. Room was lovely with small balcony, which was nice given the good weather we had. Restaurant was nice, service good, food good but price high for the quality. Breakfast was not included which was oddly disappointing, and we had to wait to be seated for breakfast - we skipped out eventually and had breakfast in Bath - much better. Easy location to get to. Facilities were good e.g. pool, hydro-pool etc. Would stay again but would probably eat out. Don't mind paying high price for high quality but this was high price for good quality.

Great Location. Super spa friendly staff. Very spacious and comfortable rooms with molton brown mini toiletries too. Lovely hotel. highly recommend
