the eveving meal was not so good, the beakfast in the morring was even worse. Weordered
our evening meal was not good the hotel had no ice for a jug of water, when we thought it could not get worse, it did, the breakfast was swimming in grease, they ran out of orange juice it was just the worst place we have ever stayed in.Quite a few of the windows in the hotel were broken, tiles on the floors were broken, staff in the bar were dicussing their lack of salary, some of the staff were pleasant. We also had to pay a suppliment for our meal to add insult to injury, the total bill for one night was £269.00. It was supposed to be a special night for us and it certainly was for all the wrong reasons. what I would like to know is how on this earth did they get their 4stars.

It was certainly not good value for money (compared to other hotels and B & Bs we stayed at on same visit to Scotland). Very clever photography as the reality was a huge disappointment. Very neglected and in need of a good clean - both inside and out. We could go on but bottom line is we would not recommend it and are very interested in how the hotel attained its 4* rating.

We felt that for the price paid, the quality & value was below par.The handle on the room to our room to our door was shaky(lack of maintenance), we had a small hairdryer that was cheap and not powerful enough. The continental buffet meats looked dried out. They have clearly invested a lot of capital and are making an effort to upgrade, but the tariff paid was a little high we felt
