Dating back to 1688, the hotel has undergone significant improvements while still reflecting its long established heritage. The interior is a mix of contempory & traditional, offering a venue for any occasion; from a relaxing break to a lavish wedding. Refurbishment work is continuing with the addition of 28 guest bedrooms. This work is due to be completed by late Summer 2008. Overlooking the picturesque Village Common at GerrardsCross, The Bull offers a warm welcome to guests as it has done for over 300 years. Central for Legoland, Windsor Castle, Hampton Court, Woburn Abbey and Safari Park, Blenheim Palace, Racing at Ascot, Sandown and Kempton Park & Newbury. There is ample free parking. Relax & unwind over afternoon tea in the Conservatory Lounge, a light lunch in the Jack Shrimpton Bar or dinner in Beeches Restaurant.

151 tastefully decorated rooms en-suite bedrooms, many of which overlook the Village Common or hotel gardens. Some of the rooms have air con some don't. Unfortunately it was a hot weekend and ours didn't. Opening the window didn't help, and made the noise from the road worse. Therefore I got little sleep.
This is a surprisingly large place so I recommend asking for a room with air con. If it wasn't for that it would be a nice place.

I don't really understand how their hotel bookings or indeed their room descriptions work. There were NO available rooms here when I tried to book direct, but miraculously, when using 'late rooms' these were available at a premium. £150 without breakfast for a tiny, noisy, unventilated back room by the delivery area was criminally overpriced. What promised to be a treat i.e. 'superior' room at such a price turned into miserable disappointment. The staff handled our concerns well and were very polite. I guess it's not their fault that most of the rooms here are crammed along tiny corridors like prison cells.
