Generally a very pleasant stay. There was the odd bit of tidying needed - a slightly broken hot tap in the bathroom, the odd bit of plaster missing, but these were tiny complaints about what was a lovely, peaceful and spacious room (19) and attentive staff. Only possible complaint would be that there was only a CD player in the bedroom, not a DVD player, which meant if you wanted to watch DVDs you needed to stay in the living room - not all that conducive to lazy Sunday mornings! |

All the cosiness of a pub hotel with the quality of the Macdonald chain. The staff were very friendly and the only down point on the room was it was a converted cottage so you could hear the people above walking around. |

Our room (43) was simply small, and the bathroom was frankly minute. The room rate of £184 therefore 'reflected the demand for rooms on a Saturday night,' we were told. This is not really 'value for money' in absolute terms, since after we had taken tea and snacks on arrival, and later a reasonable dinner with one and a half bottles of inexpensive wine, the bill for one night reached £348!! |
