The Bonham is easily the coolest hotel in Edinburgh. Classic timelessness and an uplifting ambience. Over looking tree-lined gardens, in Edinburgh's West End - the hotel is just a short walk from the city's many excellent shops & boutiques, the financial district & Edinburgh Castle. Boasting Edinburgh’s most contemporary restaurant - Restaurant at The Bonham –serving inspired European food & provocative wines. Individually decorated rooms are decorated in rich bold colours with huge comfortable beds, an abundance of cushions & throws and large bright airy windows. Many have spectacular views across Edinburgh. The Bonham pioneers eTV Interactive, in every room – a communication and entertainment centre, with full internet and e-mail access, computer services, DVD and CD (so that you don’t even have to leave your bedroom!). Unusual features include original Edwardian copper bath in one of the superior rooms and a crimson spiral sofa-bench in reception. A permanent contemporary art collection, featuring the works of approximately 30 local ‘up and coming’ Scottish artists and much more makes The Bonham is a truly unusual retreat.

Directions to The Bonham

From the west:
Follow the sings from the A8 to the city centre. After Haymarket Station, turn second left into Palmerston Place and then 2nd right into Rothesay Place.

From the North:
From the A90, follow the signs for the city centre, along Queensferry Road. Drive over the Dean Bridge and turn right at the next traffic lights. The hotel is on the right.

From the South:
A1 brings you into Edinburgh city centre, drive along Princes Street into Shandwick Place. Turn righ into Manor Place to the end, and hotel is facing you. From the Edinburgh Bypass, follow directions to A702 towards the city centre and Lothian Road. Turn left and then go onto Manor Place as above.

No air-conditioning in the room meant that it was so hot we were unable to sleep, and while staff provided a fan and iced water, it didn't help much. Why air-con in reception and none in the bedrooms?

This is a really lovely hotel in a lovely quiet location but still very close to the action. The staff really make it though, we arrived horribly early after a terrible journey up on the sleeper train but they made up a room especially and let us check in at 8am with no extra charge. Thoroughly recommended.

This is a great hotel if you are on business, or for a weekend away without children. The staff are efficient, the atmosphere is relexed, the rooms are well equiped,on the right side of town for the airport.
