The location of this hotel is very good, however, when I stayed there was building works right outside the hotel (view onto Leith St) and we were woken with the noise of a rock crusher banging (and continued to bang) all morning. The room was small and dark and too hot. No air conditioning. Staff were friendly.

This hotel is Edinburghs hidden treasure, very friendly staff, perfect location and beatiful inside. The only unfortunate bit is the building site outside - we were fine with it as we had to be up for work but as the machinery started at 7am there was no lie in to be had! Please don't let this put you off going as it really is a stunning hotel and they won't be building forever! Would certainly recommend and will defintaley go back.

I enjoyed my stay of 4 nights very much. The hotel is easy to get to from the main rail station. The room was clean and had all the required items such as tea/coffee making facilities, TV, phone and fridge/mini-bar and lots of sockets. I would have alos liked a safe. The bathroom was very good - the shower was excellent but the bath was a little narrow. The food was excellent both for braekfast and evening meal - quality, price and service. I would definately stay her again. A bit quibly but the bedside light did not work.
We were very disappointed that there was so much noise due to the building works next door - constant thumping noises from 7.45am till 5.45pm every day! I felt we should have been warned and offered a reduced rate. I would not return until I knew the work was finished no matter what the rate.

this hotel was a nice surprise, we did not expect such a well decorated hotel and bedrooms, also being near the city was a bonus The breakfast was excellant and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The evening meal whichwe took was very nice and we recommend this after a day of sight seeing. There is bulding work near the hotel but this ends around 5 pm and therefore should not disturb your sleep. We will use this hotel in the future
