Weston Manor Hotel

Northampton Road,Weston-On-The-Green, Oxford

Steeped in history and dating back to the 11th century, Weston Manor is a beautiful and unusual venue . The present Baronial Hall was the bailiffs court for the Abbott of Osney who owned the house before the dissolution of the monasteries by King Henry V111 in the 16th century.
Subsequently the great land owning families, the Earls of Abingdon and Berkshire - the "Norreys and Berties" resided at Weston Manor until the death of the last heir during the great war in 1917.
Renovated during the twenties and thirties by several families, Weston Manor was occupied during the second world war when it was used by the BBC as a dormitory for their staff.
The building was converted into a hotel in the late 1940's, and bought by its present owners, the Osborn family in 1983. Mr and Mrs Osborn pride themselves on the care and effort they have made to sympathetically restore the building and its grounds.
In addition we have 2 acres of tranquil gardens ideal for a quiet walk or team building, with Croquet lawn
Outdoor heated pool and a local Golf course

A luxury break stop over for me compared to my usual hotel (business) stays. Staff friendly. Food was excellent.

After upgrading to a suite I was expecting much more. Not cobwebs, spiders and dated flaking decor. This hotel given the building and surroundings could be so nice. Does not live up to what the website shows at all. The pool is an old concrete affair with green algae on the bottom as they clearly don't have a brush long enough for the job.
The hotel inspector would have a field day.

Room was nice - although bathroom could have had a proper shower and better toiletries. Breakfast was nice - but poor service and limited juices and cereals as the staff didnt have time to replenish. The orange juice container was refilled from cartoned orange juice in front of guests which I didnt think was very good. The staff were friendly.
