Jonathans Hotel & Restaurant

Dissapointed that they are having major refurb and we weren't advised prior to arrival. Reception, public rooms were fine but the corridors looked like a building site! Bedroom a little tired. BUT good value and will use again.

Lovely quirky place, stayed there years ago, it has changed but still has some of the old charm

The food in the hotel was good, the accomodation was comfortable, but dinner prices in the hotel where a little high. The bar is realy for dinner guests only as we found that we had to wait to be servered at a table (no service directly from the bar). Parking is plentiful if a little difficult to find on the first attempt. Would stay here again but only because the room rate was exceptional compared to the Hotel direct prices.

This hotel wasn't too bad. Looked quite modern from outside but was a bit freaked out when we went inside. It's all victorian decor so weird pictures throughout the rooms and hallways and wallpaper that your great grandma would have used. Not the best sight when you wake up hung over! A bit of a mission to find anything because its a maze, so make sure you get them to explain where your room is properly. Food was ok, your classic full english for breaky. A couple of the staff were a bit rude and looked like they didn't want to be there, but the rest were nice. Our room was modest but had what you need. tv didnt work but we werent there to watch it anyway. Its a bit far away from town so you will definitely have to have a car or catch public transport. The bus stop into town is about five minutes walk from the hotel.

A maze that is not the cleanest and most welcoming hotel in the world.
