Once built as a private mansion in 1869, later in the hands of bankers, this magnificent 19th century classical building has been renovated and converted into the Heritage hotel. The house has a 14th century old cellar with special arches, of which stones are now displayed at the museum of the archaeological society. The hotel is located in the centre of the historical city, 50 m. from the market square. Cosy restaurants, interesting museums, elegant shops and romantic carriages that take you through the city are only at walking distance. Boat rides on Bruges’s famous canals show you the hidden corners of the city. The Heritage Hotel offers its guests elegant, stylish rooms, all characterized by individual decoration, nice soft furnishings with well appointed bathrooms. At 2nd intersection with traffic lights, to the left, direction "Knokke-Heist". At 2nd intersection with traffic lights, "Ezelpoort" (no8), to the right, direction Brugge Centrum through Ezelstraat, Sint-Jakobsstraat, up to Eiermarkt (end of the street), turn left into Niklaas Desparsstraat up to Hotel Heritage on the left-hand side.

    We had an excellent weekend at the Hotel Heritage. We arrived early (9:50am) after following the faultless instructions provided by the hotel in order to drop off our bags and park our car in the underground hotel car park. To our pleasant surprise we found that the room was ready which was great. We also got upgraded to a top floor suite with a lovely view of the city. The room was spotlessly clean and cannot be faulted.
    Nothing was too much trouble for the front desk staff who gave us a useful map and ran through the main highlights of what to do and see. The map has two walks marked out on it. One covers the main attractions which is a must do but the other walk which takes you to the north-east/east of the city is a lovely walk too so both are highly recommended. They also booked us a table at our chosen restaurant.
    Brugge is a lovely city and the roads from Calais are really good quality. We were surprised how easy and quick it was to get there by taking our own car and using the Eurotunnel. My wife fell in love with Brugge, so no doubt we will go back one day!
