The Ripon Spa is set in beautful gardens in the centre of the ancient city of Ripon just 10 minutes from the A1. People come to Ripon to see the magnificent cathedral, famous racecourse and nearby attractions of Harrogate, York, Fountains Abbey and North Yorkshire Moors and Dales. The Ripon Spa is the ideal venue to explore all of the above whilst staying in comfort. A fine Edwardian building, the Ripon Spa Hotel is peacefully situated in several acres of attractive gardens, just five minutes walk from the heart of Ripon with its historic Cathedral and Market Place and ten minutes drive off the A1M. The 40 en-suite bedrooms are well equipped and individually furnished with many overlooking the grounds. All recently refurbished the rooms offer all modern facilities including, Tea/Coffee making, hairdryer and trouser press. Close to Fountains Abbey (4 miles) and Studley Royal Gardens the hotel is an ideal base for sightseeing with a wealth of historic houses, National Trust properties, picturesque villages and glorious Yorkshire countryside on the doorstep. Ripon is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales with the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, twenty five minutes drive away.
PLEASE NOTE: The week commencing 12 January 2009, the hotel will be undertaking a major refurbishment of public areas (Reception). The refurbishment will be going on for two weeks. During this period conferences will be unable to be held at the hotel.

An excellent stay in the centre of Ripon. The hotel is ideally situated in lovely grounds. There was a friendly atmosphere, the room was quite spacious, and breakfast was very good.

We only stayed one night but really enjoyed Ripon and the Ripon Spa Hotel.
The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the market square and the Cathedral.
The staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel does have a strange smell, there were a number of guests with dogs, could this be the cause ?
In the evening we had some food in the bar which was very good, it was tasty and of ample proportions. Next morning before breakfast we walked round the very large grounds at the rear of the hotel, they were very well kept, very neat and tidy.
Breakfast was first class. We will go again in summer.

Very efficient resturant staff. Good atmosphere, warm & friendly. Ideal facilities for playing croquet, they don't mind beginners. Centrally located - within five minutes of town centre.
