Beautifully furnished period house set on the edge of the village overlooking the fields to the ancient church. Always scoring top marks ten out of ten with guests for its warm character and friendliness of staff and owner Christine Abraham. Little touches make this the perfect place to stay when visiting York or looking for a refuge not far from the M62. Good access (without the cost) of staying in York Centre, parking no problem, extensive gardens and many good eating establishments on the doorstep (one next door).
Elegant individually furnished rooms overlooking the mature gardens and/or courtyard, ensuite with all modern comforts. Private off street courtyard available for parking. For that special occasion a half tester suite in limed oak is available. Full English breakfast is served overlooking the enclosed gardens. Two restaurants are located in the village for evening meals with numerous other eateries in the surrounding area - if arriving late, sandwiches and snacks can be made available.
Well located just off the M62 and A19 for both business and leisure requirements - easy access to York, Hull, Leeds, Goole, Selby, Doncaster and the new Xscape sports and shopping complex on the M62.

Excellent B&B for a long weekend break in York and surrounding area. Made very welcome by the owner - it was my partner's birthday and when she found out, as we were leaving, she produced some chocolates for him - very touching thought. Good breakfast, would definitely use again. No evening meal but they have a list of local restaurants. We tried the Italian - good food, bistro style. Can recommend the White Hart at Pool also for a meal.

Good location for the motorways, very friendly staff, an enjoyable stay. Our double room was smaller than we would have liked but that was a minor issue.
