Stay at hotel was pleasant. However, on checking out early morning (6am) I did encounter a problem. I had attended a function the previous evening in the hotel and had signed my drinks to my room bill, however, on checking out I was presented with a huge bill, and after asking for a look at the bar tabs pointed out that several of the tabs were not signed by myself although the room number quoted was correct. The night porter that was on duty at reception became quite rude when I pointed out I was not going to pay for items I had not signed for. Nice hotel in general, but beware........... |

The hotel was in a good location, surrounded by trees and parkland. The room was adequate, quite small and without airconditioning. Biggest problem was the noise! There was a wedding in the room next to the Brasserie and bar which was allowed to spill into the bar, children and wedding guests were quite understandably in the bar area - leaving little or no room for other clients. When we returned to our room the noise was unbearable with a heavy base thussing in the room. We rang the reception and were assured it would stop by 12.00 - it did not, we rang again and were assured it would stop at 12.30 which it did. I explained to the staff on duty that we had booked a hotel room so that we could get a good nights sleep and that being kept awake until 12.30 was not acceptable. The next morning after anothr complaint they reduced the bill slightly! We have since been told that other hotel groups refund all costs if the customer does not get a good nights sleep! |
