Glyn Isa Country House Bed and Breakfast

Rowen, Conwy (nr Llandudno)

Glyn Isa (meaning "lower valley" ) is a 17th Century Country House, offering bed and breakfast accommodation. The house dates back to 1626 and is set in 10 acres of mature private gardens and land against a backdrop of mountains on the edge of Snowdonia National Park with beautiful views over the Conwy valley, just next to a fishing lake. We have all en suite rooms and the house retains many of its orignal features (plus the occasional ghost!!) and antiques. This is a very tranquil spot, where you can walk, cycle, or just sit and enjoy the quietness.... but the medieval walled town of Conwy, with its 13th Century castle plus many shops, bars and restaurants and Llandudno....more shops, bars and restaurants are both less than 10 minutes drive away. All rooms have lovely views over lawns, gardens, or orchards......, where you are very welcome to wander, or maybe sit and read. We have a couple of very good local pubs for your evening meal which are less than a mile away ( an easy walk) ...Welsh singing a "must" on Friday nights in the village.. We also have a wealth of National Trust properties in the area, such as the magnificent Bodnant Gardens, Penrhyn Castle, Plas Newydd, Aberconwy House, and others, such as Caernarfon Castle, Beaumaris Castle and Plas Mawr. There is horse riding locally, plus golf (4 courses) , walking and of course, fishing. 16th Century Egon Ronay pub 1/2 mile, Rowen village 1/2 mile.Mt Snowdon 40 minutes drive, North Wales Theatre in Llandudno 9 miles, Conwy 3 miles.
Private Parking within our gates and land.

The hotel was wonderful, and set in an idyllic location, surrounded by hills. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend and plan to return soon. We received a very warm welcome and the weekend exceded expectations. The location was ideal for enjoying the countryside and visiting nearby Conwy, and also in walking distance of a very lively and friendly village pub.

We had a wonderful 2 nights away from it all break at Glyn Isa. Liz was really welcoming as was Ben the dog! The rooms were of a high standard, beautifully in keeping with the period of the house. The grounds were lovley to explore, as was the surrounding countryside. we would not hesitate to saty again in this beautiful location
