Arrived midnight on Friday night and all was locked up (we knew it would be). But instructions and map were stuck on the door and key left in our room. Room was fine in a converted granary except that walls were very thin and you could hear a lot. Try to avoid the Granary as other rooms must be quieter. Dinner on Saturday night was fine and very reasonable value. We arrived late and were welcmed by a wonderful French waiter. Breakfast was great. A buffet of fruits, cereals and cooked breakfast. Great for my veggie wife who is not normally well catered for in hotels for breakfast. Here she could pick and choose. Got a bit interesting at 9.30 on Sunday morning when food was running low and everyone came down but staff topped up eagerly. Did not play golf so cannot comment on that. Staff lovely and helful generally. Was surprised to have to pay £16 per night for my dog to stay. Quite high by normal standards. Location excellent for Heligan, Fowey, Roseland and A30 generally. |

The hotel is in a very pleasant location looking out over its own golf course, and has a good range of other sports facilities available to guests - swimming pool, gym, snooker etc. |

Accommodation is in outbuldings beside the clubhouse. We found the staff really helpful and friendly. Our room was fine until the guests in the upstairs room returned after we had gone to sleep. Then we felt as if the ceiling was going to collapse. The floorboards creaked loudly and we could quite clearly hear their conversation. So if you are going to stay here our advice is to check your room before you accept it. |
