The Links Country Park Hotel & Golf Club

Sandy Lane,West Runton, West Runton, Cromer

Norfolk's Longest Established Golf, Leisure and Conference Hotel
Established 1899
DOUBLE AWARD WINNERS
HOLIDAY OF THE YEAR 2006
AWARD OF MERIT FOR SPECIALIST SERVICES TO GOLF (2006)
Proudly independent, "The Links", considered by many to be the best golf leisure and conference hotel in Norfolk is set in 35 acres of lightly wooded coastal parkland, designated as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The hotel has retained those high standards of personal service long forgotten by many and offers a traditional warm welcome, a peaceful escape from everyday pressures and the opportunity to relax and unwind in this tranquil, un-spoilt area of North Norfolk.
The hotel has its own superb 9 hole (par 33) Golf Course. The original course was designed by J. H. Taylor and was opened by him around the turn of the century. He described as "one of the most sporting Golf Courses in Great Britain".
The golf course combines tight hilly fairways with tricky greens, providing a challenge for the most able players and beginners alike.
Overlooking the village and with magnificent coastal views makes the course one of the most picturesque in the region. Golf Equipment and useful tips are available from the Golf Shop, where the resident Professional can be found.

because we had a dog with us and they gave us a garden room, the room was very tired looking, cobwebs and not very clean it could have done with a lick of paint and new carpet and furnishing. i know we have a dog but it does'nt mean we should get less than other people staying, i would hope that the rooms in the main part of the hotel were better. although we were'nt happy about the room, it suited us to stay there purely because they accepted dogs, the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful and the golf was great for my husband so for that reason we would return but i could'nt recommend it. the hotel is of a lower standard than what we are used to. also we were not informed of the £10 charge for the dog.

The rooms were very stuffy with little air flow. The beds were ridiculously soft. There was no offer of help with luggage to the room. Breakfast was good and the location good but all in all horrendously over priced for the quality.

The disappointing thing about this hotel is the complete lack of evening meal/bar snacks facilities other than a very expensive set menu. Potential guests should bear this in mind, particularly if you are staying on your own as I was and therefore did not want to go into the village to a pub or restaurant.
