Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel a lot bigger than expected but still had an intimate feel. Food excellent although we paid for a meal in the dining room which is more expensive but value for money. Lots of indiividual bars and areas with bar meals if you prefer. Whilst we were there midweek which we suspect is a lot quieter we found the whole experience very pleasant |

A real enigma. Full of character and in a lovely setting, but it somehow feels impersonal. Our room, on the third floor (no lift) was a bit small, and although it was reasonable value at the heavily discounted price, at the fulkl rack rate it would have been very over-priced. |

Couldn't fault this hotel, as you can tell by the scores. We only stayed one night and found the room comfortable, clean and well equiped. Had a meal at the hotel which was excellent, as was the breakfast. The restaurant staff were very attentive but not instrusive. The hotel was an interesting building, which was fun to look around. |
