Alton Lodge, which has recently been refurbished throughout, is an established family run hotel in an attractive setting less than one mile from the City centre. The emphasis is on high standards and good value. All 21 rooms have en-suite facilities, are centrally heated, and have been tastefully decorated. The rooms offer a very high standard of personal accomodation.The Restaurant has a reputation for quality and choice and is open for midday coffees and snacks and evening meals every day of the week.There is a licensed Residents Bar and Lounge which also serves bar snacks every day of the week.Free WiFi hotspot in bar/lounge area.
Chester is the perfect location for exploring the North West and Wales. Snowdonia National Park is less than an hour's drive away and also within easy reach are the Peak District, the Lake District, the Fylde coast and the cities of Manchester and Liverpool. In the immediate vicinity, one can find thousands on places to visit including; Jodrell Bank, Little Morton Hall, Salt museum, Tattonpark, Chirk Castle, Conway Castle, Snowdon Mountain Railway, Mouldsworth Motor Museum and Erddig Hall.

Only problem we found was shower had no pressure, which made for a very dissapointing cleanup after hard days work. Staff & breakfast were excellent .

Eaiy to find. Evening meal - quality disappointing. Breakfast OK.
I'd recommend for a one night stay, but definitely eat out!

The hotel breakfast was excellent all the food was fresh, and of a high standard. The room was warm and having your own entrance made it more personal.
