Food in the Nathaniels restaurant was poor. My husband had shepherds pie which was more like a bowl of mince with a scoop of mashed potato on the top. I had beef caserole and beef was chewy. Needless to say this was the one and only time we had evening meal in the hotel. Breakfast was a shambles the service was shocking for a 4 star hotel, one morning I counted 17 tables cluttered with dirty dishes and people waiting in the holding area for tables, not nice to sit and have to eat breakfast looking at everyone elses left overs. Every morning we were there we had ask for something which should of been on the table. I understand they had been busy but there seemed to be a lot of staff wandering around not doing much. The grounds of the hotel were nice and the room was pleasant, but the food and service needs to be much improved. Overall very dissapointed from a de vere hotel. |

We enjoyed a reasonable stay here for my partners birthday, but although the hotel were advised that it was his birthday no mention was made about this during the stay! I also emailed & asked for the cost & type of champagne they could provide, still waiting for the reply! The cooked breakfast we had on Sat was lovely with excellent sausage & bacon etc, but on Sunday it was noticeable that much cheaper sausages & fatty bacon was used - perhaps this had something to do with the large wedding party / cheaper rates that they possibly paid? All said I don't think we will hurry back here, & FYI this hotel is of a much lower standard than it's sister hotels Slaley & Oulton! |

Great hotel, fantastic breakfast, a real shame that there's no air conditioning, it had been a really hot day & only a small fan is provided (would have been nice on the hot day if the window had been left open during the day at least). Facilities are great apart from that & would stay again. |

No pillowcases on the pillows. Asked for a quiet room - given one on the ground floor next to the carpark, so heard cars coming and going most of the evening. Sound of some sort of pump/generator intermittently during the night, so unable to sleep. |

The Hotel fairly easy to find. The Grounds and gardens were beautiful, shame about the ubiquitos golf couse. Lots of Aston Martins stood around. Room was comfortable but no fridge. Certianly clean. Food average. £ 3.95 for water ! |
