Buckerell Lodge - A Folio Hotel

Topsham Road, Exeter

This comfortable & relaxing hotel, having completed its refurbishment in May 2008, is situated within four acres of landscaped gardens, close to the city centre with free on-site car parking. The gardens are surrounded by mature trees and rhododendrons, shielding the visitors from the outside world. The hotel has 54 bedrooms in a contemporary style of warm and relaxing colours. All rooms feature wall mounted flat-screen TVs, laptop safes, Wi-fi access, duvets and bathrooms of modern tiling, chrome fittings and high-polished granite tops. Food & drink are served all day in the restaurant, bar, lounge and gardens in addition to a 24-hour room service. The bar also has a large wall mounted 42" flat-screen TV showing the latest international and sporting events & news.

we ate in the restaurant and the bar and the service in both was excellent and the standard of the food was superb.

Had to complain about the service given on the Saturday as there was a wedding which seemed to take over everywhere (nowhere to sit in lounge area and service of drinks etc difficult. The choice at dinner was fairly limited and the same each night, no table dd'hote available. It was more like a cafe than a restaurant
