Not very good value for money - expensive to say the price was room only. This hotel have a strange way of taking payment - they ask for authorisation on your card when you arrive and enter an amount higher than the value of the room (apparently just in case you spend more than the price of the room!!) then when you leave they swipe your card again to take the room cost from you. This strange practice resulted in £75 for the room price and an additional £95 (the pre-authorisation amount) being taken from my account. As I had not been expecting this (the £95 should have been cancelled but wasn't), it left me in financial difficulty!! Would not recommend or stay again which is unfortunate because the location was perfect.

Very friendly and clean hotel in the centre of St Albans with good room prices. Car Park is very small and alternative parking not a good 10 minutes walk.
