What a lovely place to stay. The owners were extremely friendly and did everything they could to make our two night stay enjoyable. We had a meal in the hotel on one night and I have to say the cooking and quality ofthe food was excellent. The little touches like tea and cakes when we returned from walking was most welcome. This hotel is a liitle bit away from the main tourist areas but that makes it all the better and certainly worth the drive. |

The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was very good - the full english was tasty and filling. The room was a decent size and the bathroom was adequate. The decor is in need of updating but was in good condition. We had dinner in the guest house one night from the £24 set menu. The food was quite tasty and very filling (although I did have dessert AND a cheese board!). The dining/breakfast room would definitely have benefitted from having some music playing. There was only another couple in addition to us, and you felt like you had to whisper to each other. |

Hotel was in a very picturesque locatation and well positioned for the Western Lakes. Although I stayed whilst on business, the Woodlands is ideally suited for holiday stays. Accomodation very comfortable. Hotel food excellent and alternative high quality pub food also available within 10/15 minutes drive. |

Wonderful place-views are fantastic. Arrived in time for coffee and home made flapjacks in lounge. Room well furnished with plenty of hangers and storage space.Lovely touches-flowers, shortbread, chocolates cafetiere, ground coffee, dressing gowns & hairdryer. Best nights sleep we've had with good quality matress and goose down duvet and pillows. (Non allergenic also offered!) |
