We found the B&B very easily using directions given by the proprietor. It is very convenient for Polperro , Looe and the Eden project. Adjacent to a fairly busy road, but we did not hear the traffic even with our window open all night as the room was set well back.
The room was spacious, ground floor, with very good en suite facilities, including a walk in shower, and spotlessly clean. Towels were changed daily and an extra (third ) pillow supplied on request. The owners were friendy and eager to be of assistance. The food was of very good quality and my husband enjoyed the full English breakfast on offer. Parking was right outside our room. There is no sitting room available for the use of guests as far as I know but the TV in our room was adequate for our needs during a short stay of 2 nights.
We do not use this type of accomodation often as we enjoy self catering holidays. We felt that it was very satisfactory for our needs on this one occasion (on our way home from the Tall Ships regatta in Falmouth where we had stayed the week in an apartment)
We do not usually recommend accomodation to our friends or relations as everyone has different needs and tastes!

This was a very unfortunate experience and one that I shall definitely not be recommending to others. From the moment of arrival, when we were greeted with the smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby carpet, and the request for a £5.00 per head, per night surcharge, required in advance, in cash, without a receipt, for an upgrade to a room with en-suite facilities, I had the feeling that this was going to be a bad experience.
I always thought that in this day and age, bed & breakfast accommodation was arranged for the benefit of the paying guests, and not the proprietors. However that is clearly not the case with this establishment. I spend a lot of time travelling worldwide for both business and pleasure and I can definitely state that this has been the singularly worst experience, and poorest value for money I have had in decades.
We were told that breakfast would be at 09:00 sharp, and had the impression that that the order we placed on the evening of our arrival, was apparently fixed for the duration of the stay. We were also informed that we had to be out of the accommodation each day between 11:00 and 17:00, which seems a very old fashioned, boarding house approach.
My partner was told that if the towels got damp, in usage, we were invited to hang them out to dry on the washing line.
The dust, which was evident on the bedside tables upon arrival, was still there when we left.
Our hosts were very meagre in the supply of the (cheap) toiletries and coffee & tea. The bedding was old, rough and very tired, and as neither my partner nor I suffer from incontinence, the plastic undersheet that greeted us each morning when the inadequate sheeting had come apart, was a further insult.
With regard to breakfast, there was little or no imagination to the meals served in an antiquated way to all of the guests at a communal table. In a part of the country revered for the quality of the local produce, cheap bread, limp scrambled egg, elderly bananas and bright and artificially coloured inexpensive jams seemed to be the order of the day. There is definitely little in the way of "home cooking" at this establishment.
It should also be noted that as the proprietor also runs a taxi service from the B&B, there was a tendency for the telephone to ring in what seemed the middle of the night, adding to the general annoyance already experienced from the elderly and generally uncomfortable bed linen.
We were asked to keep the windows closed, apparently to stop mosquitos getting in. In consequence, the accommodation was also very stuffy.
Finally, and perhaps most significantly, our host's approach to settling our account was unusual, to say the least. Having been told that there would be a 3% surcharge if we paid by credit card, or a £2.50 surcharge if we settled using a debit card, we were clearly encouraged to pay by good old-fashioned cash. However, we were asked to settle our account on the Thursday (to enable him to go to the bank on the Friday), and not on the last day of our stay. Having complied, in the spirit of cooperation with this unusual request, were not presented with either an invoice for our stay, nor a receipt for the expense.
We note that our hosts have placed the property for sale on the market. Perhaps they too have come to the realization that they are not cut out to be proprietors of bed and breakfast accommodation in one of England's best tourist areas.
I look forward to returning to Cornwall. I can guarantee I shall not be returning to Greystone Pool!

We stayed for three nights at this location. From the minute that we arrived our hosts went out of their way to look after us. Rooms where clean, comfortable and well presented, breakfast was tastey and plenty. Fishing ports of Looe & Polperro are only a short drive or taxi away from this quiet accomodation and it provided a good base to explore Cornwall. Not sure why any guest would have cause to complain they must have extreamly high standards. I travel a lot with work and could not find fault throughout our stay.

When researched on the web we thought that the B&B was in a quiet location not near any major towns. What we discovered was the noisiest room I've ever stayed in. Our room was exceptionally warm for the 20'C weather (we were advised of this by the owner when we checked in and given a desktop fan) that it would have been desirable to keep the window open if not for the noise. Located along a long stretch of road we were kept awake all night by car lights (we were also given a piece of cardboard to place in one of the windows) and constant traffic. The cleanliness of the house, the food and the female owner were lovely. Unfortunately the male owner was not. He became a joke at the breakfast table for his constant interferring and rudeness for most but for us we found him extremely upsetting. I would strongly advise against anyone to book in this B&B.

The friendly greeting was maintained throughout our stay with very good advice on where to visit and places to enjoy. The hosts bothered very much to ensure our comfort. Breakfasts were excellent and the room extremely clean and comfortable. Facilities such as TV & DVD were provided and even the heating came on, this in July, the weather was not as bad as it might have been.
All in all a most enjoyable stay and to be reccommended.
