A hotel with lots of potential - but needs some work. Positives are a big room, comfortable bed, clean, takes dogs. Bacon, egg and hogs pudding at breakfast good. Convenient location, particularly for Eden, and although on main road, road noise wasn't a problem. Secure car parking. Owners friendly and helpful.
Negatives. Old commercial hotel, lots not changed in years?, room furnishings adequate, not stylish (bedside lights would be good) - one of the makeover stylists from the TV would be able to do more with the raw materials. Sausage, coffee and ancilliaries at breakfast don't match the bacon and eggs.

Room was a little sparse but clean and comfortable. Bathroom was the same. Both rooms would benefit from more furniture and/or shelving.
Breakfast was excellent, but no seperate eating area available, just tables set in the bar area of the pub. We got the feeling that the Landlord and Landlady were quite newly in position and that they hadn't quite put their mark on the place yet.
The rooms are at the rear of the building with access through the car park (secure), so not affected by road noise.
Ideally positioned for The Eden Project at only 1.5 miles from the entrance.
We would definitely stay there again as it is well positioned and even after what I just said it was clean, comfortable and value for money.
