The Florence is a beautiful Victorian Guest House built in 1870, situated in the heart of Whitby opposite Pannet Park home of Whitby Museum & Art Gallery with Whitby's last Spa in it's back yard it is steeped in history. We have endeavoured to cater for your every need in our en suite rooms, all are clean comfortable & elegant have central heating, hospitality trays, colour TVs . Ironing facilities, hairdryers and Wi Fi are also also available. Two of our rooms are on the ground floor so are particularly suited to guests with impaired mobility. We are a very short walk from the train & bus station, shops, bars & harbour so no big hills to climb!
We are renowned for our extensive menu and delicious locally sourced breakfast, choose what you want and vary it each day
We are a non smoking establishment, dogs are welcome by arrangement. We cater for vegetarian & diabetic diets and any other dietary need if notified. 2 night minimum stay weekends, August, festivals & bank holidays

On entering Whitby on the A171 from Scarborough go straight forward at first set of traffic lights down Prospect Hill to mini roundabout follow signs for town centre bringing you onto A174 keeping Pannet Park on your left we are situated 100metres from the mini roundabout on your right On entering outskirts of Whitby on the A171 from Middlesborough go straight across at first large roundabout, carry straight on till you come to traffic lights( approx 2 miles) filter left down Prospect Hill bringing you to a mini roundabout follow signs for town centre bringing you onto A174 keeping Pannet Park on your left we are situated 100 metres from the mini roundabout on your right If approaching on A169 Malton Pickering Road stay on this road till you get to large roundabout on outskirts of Whitby, turn right then follow direction as for Middlesborough approach above

very welcoming hosts , good advice about where to eat ,accommodation spotless if somewhat basic. parking difficult when you are strangers to the area . Would return.

Wonderful warm Whitby welcome. Guest house immaculate. Janet the landlady very pleasant indeed and v helpful giving us invaluable help picking restaurants etc. The breakfast was perfect. Room 3 though was very small, I would opt for a larger room next time. parking is a problem had to go some 300yards away and leave it on street. despite these two points ,an excellent guest house well worth its 4 star rating and very good reviews that persuded us to select it. if you stay you will not be disappointed!

The hotel was really pleasant. We received a warm welcome and the advice about parking was helpful. The hotel was within a short walk from the centre of Whitby and an ideal base for our short stay. The best part of staying at the Florence was the superb breakfast, it set you up for the whole day. Without a doubt we will be returning in the future.
