The Manor Inn, Galmpton

2 Stoke Gabriel Road Galmpton, Nr. Brixham

The Manor Inn has been the local pub in the Dartside village of Galmpton since the 19th Century but in recent years had become a nationally managed chain pub. Fed up with the corporate, chilled food approach, four locals rescued it looking to turn it back into the sort of place they would be happy to eat and drink in.
We offer
● Luxury rooms (remember - we are the village inn, so the ambience may not always be that of a graveyard)
● An excellent restaurant with a full range of locally sourced, freshly prepared meals
● A real local pub, locally run and responsive to the needs of the community
● Well kept beer to suit all tastes
● A decent wine list
● A venue for village celebrations, company events and family get-togethers
● Situated on the South West Coastal Footpath, close to Torbay, the River Dart (local mooring and launching available), Greenway house and other National Trust Properties and the Dartmouth Steam Railway staion at Churston.
● There are riding stables in the village, boats for hire nearby and the Churston Golf Club is just up the road.
We have refurbished the bar, dining areas and loos and completely re-built the former self-catering letting rooms and transformed them into four outstanding bedrooms, all en-suite and each with its own character.
Do come and visit us - have a look round, have a chat, enjoy the best kept beer in the area, try our wines by the glass or bottle, have a meal and stay the night, followed by a traditional, freshly cooked breakfast.

Easy to find and warmly welcomed by the staff. The location allows for easy access to the main road in the area and makes travelling to local beaches and main towns simple. We would recommend to anyone who enjoys country / village inn accomodation.

The hotel was easy to find. Everyone were extremely friendly. The food was of a high quality. Plenty of parking space.
The downside. We asked for disabled persons accommodation and did not get it. ( Not the hotel's fault.) Had my husband been wheelchair bound we could not have coped. No disabled person's WC. Stairs to the room. Not a good handrail to grip. Never the less we enjoyed our stay. Good Value

We had a great weekend, the people were very welcoming and friendly. Its a beautiful part of England and we would love to go back again in the future. The food was great and the selection of wine and beer fantastic. It has a warm family feel to it and our children were welcome inside the pub. The breakfast was just what the doctor ordered and the lady that served us treated us like part of the family.

The hotel was very easy to find, and very convenient for local attractions. The food was excellent. We could only book the smallest room, and it was too small for two people, The wardrobe was very small, about 5ft 8" high and the teamaking facilities were on top of this. The bed was very comfortable and the en-suite bathroom was very good. The inn has a large number of eating and drinking customers, and is quite noisy at night, and without double glazing the rooms are quite noisy as well.
Some of the rooms have interconnecting doors and the noise from the next door TV can be a nuisance.
