A problem encountered on arrival in the dark at 20.30 was that it was locked up, andthere was no notice to say how to register. I went in to the adjacent flask In thinking registration would be thwere, but was told it was nothing to do with thma nd to ring the number on the outside of the Lodge. Anotice, clearly visible in the dark , needs tobe placed on the door. Also, if i hadn't had a working mobile phone with me, how would i have contacted them? Directions to where the owner (who cam e out very quickly when i phoned him) was located should also be provided. |

I booked a single room which was beautifully furnished, very clean with everything I could have needed. Location wise it's great for walkers, a little isolated for those who prefer a 'gentle stroll' but easily placed for Whitby, Scarborough & the moors. |

This is a very friendly well run hotel. The food was excellent with lots of choice and freshly cooked making it well worth the wait. Nothing was to much trouble for Richard and his staff. I would have no problems recommending this hotel to friends and will definately be making a return visit. |
