Small but very homely hotel. The food was fantastic. Close to the racecourse with fabulous views.

The hotel was classed as 5* and our room as a luxury I was therefore disappointed when we got there to find curtains hanging loose from the rail and the double bed was in fact a three quarter bed. There was only one bedside light it would have been nice to have a light on either side There was no toilet roll in the bathroom however once we asked it was delivered . We booked a table in the restaurant for an evening meal food was delicious. There was no menu for breakfast we were offered a full breakfast but there must have been other choices as someone on the next table had smoked haddock. It would have been nice to have the choice. The owners were very friendly and helpful Overall it was OK but 5* it was not
