Excellent breakfast - efficient unobtrusive service - very comfortable room - novel bathroom - good views of the sea - lot of stairs to get to it - needed hand soap. Probably not ideal for young families - excellent for couples needing R&R.

The Zanzibar International Hotel isn't in Zanzibar and isn't a hotel: but it is an absolutely wonderful place to escape from the world. We stayed on a very grey August Bank Holiday birthday treat, and as soon as we came through the door, we were offered a drink by the lovely Trish, and the service throughout our stay was first class but very unobtrusive.
We stayed in South America which had a lovely view of the sea, an enormous bed and a fabulous bath. The bathroom is one half of the massive room, and is divided from the main section by a curtain - and the loo within has no door either!
We'll definitely return (but could someone please tune the piano in the grand salon?). Excellent.
