I would recommend this boutique hotel when off to the races, very helpful friendly feel and service. Once you book there is a phone number for direct contact in the booking details. Really, really good quality simple breakfast. We will stay here again.

The room was fairly small but lovely. Very good and friendly service. The only bad thing I can say about it was the lack of a mirror in the bedroom, and the lighting in the bathroom was not good for doing make-up as the light didn't shine on the mirror. Apart from that we had a wonderful stay.

Firstly the hotel has only been open for a few weeks, so please bear that in mind.
The hotel is obviously run without a woman's touch. I say this as the bedrooms (nice as they are) are missing things that you really would expect to get in any hotel - such as a mirror in the bedroom (there was only the bathroom mirror), a shelf in the bathroom to put your toothbrush on, etc etc. However the room (which was in a "business block, strangely) had what I would class as "boys toys" - a very nice expensive coffee maker (complete with used coffee not cleaned out from previous guests) and an LCD TV with freeview.
The room (room 8) was newly built in a "business block" area. Although there were only rooms in the business block, so I am not sure how that works. The main complaint we had was that the only window was a small skylight that had no internal blind. The owners had put a bamboo blind on the outside but that didn't really work at 6am when the sun came up. No other windows in the room at all, so there was a very claustrophobic feel. The bed was massive though and quite comfortable. The shower was very good indeed.
Breakfast the next morning was very nice and served promptly. A request for a mirror (so the missus could get ready for the wedding we were attending) was met immediately and the mirror was delivered to our room before we finished our breakfast.
All in all for £85 including breakfast it was a perfectly nice place, but very obviously still in it's early days. Lots to do to get the home comforts right and rooms 7, 8 and 9 really need to get bigger windows and blinds installed.
