Da Vinci Eastbourne

9-10 HOWARD SQUARE, EASTBOURNE

The da Vinci has ten en-suite rooms which will each feature a well known (and maybe a not so well known) artist. The rooms have all been refurbished and redecorated to a very high standard and you will find some very nice original art work on the corridors and in your rooms. On the ground floor is the resident's lounge (with full licensed facilities), two breakfast rooms (formal an informal) and a conference room (which you can hire). The da Vinci is ideally situated in Howard Square just off the sea front and just around the corner from the Devonshire Theatre, the Congress Theatre, the Winter Gardens and the new arts centre. We are a short walk to the town's shops and a lot of very nice restaurants.

Road From the seafront proceed west towards Beachy Head. Howard Square is situated on the seafront between the West Rocks Hotel and the TGWU building close to the bandstand. The hotel is situated on the left-hand side. Railway Station From the railway station, proceed up Gildredge Road and left into South Street. Take the second turning right into Hardwick Road and proceed towards the sea front. At the Devonshire Park Theatre turn right (not sharp right) into Compton Street then first right into Howard Square. The hotel is situated on the right-hand side. From Town Centre From the Tourist Information Centre, proceed along Cornfield Road into Cornfield Terrace and take the first turning left into Burlington Place. Turn first right into Compton Street then first left into Howard Square. The hotel is situated on the left-hand side.

Very nice hotel with beautifull art on the wall. And although there were just a few guest I had a lovely breakfast and the service was okay.
The room was very nice with a wonderful bed, I slept very well.

* The owners were lovely and extremely helpful especially with restaurant advice.
* Breakfast was lovely and the breakfast room was atmospheric.
* The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and very accomodating.
* The only downside was the ensuite bathroom needs some updating the match the other excellent standards of the hotel.
* overall, it was a lovely weekend, would definately visit again!

It was the worst bed I have ever slept in - far too soft and lumpy and the pillows were just full of air. There was nowhere to hang your wet towels when getting out of the shower and no hooks in the bedroom to hang your wet coats. And you may as well have slept with the lights on for all the good the curtains did at keeping out the bright street lights.
Didn't like having to ring a bell when we wanted to check in or if you wanted a drink etc. It was not like staying in a hotel at all.

Staff were very friendly. Bathroom needed updating for the room to score higher but it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, although could use better sausages!!!! But if that's the only fault, it must have been good! Only stayed one night, didn't use the bar or anything so it was really B&B - but quiet and pleasant.
