We travelled as two couples so had booked two rooms. The service and all the staff were most helpful, polite and friendly. The food was first class. We were surprised to find on our visit that dinner was available to bed and breakfast guests at a modest £10.00 (Special offer).
The weather was very wintry, being November, so we took advantage of the dinner offer.. It can only be said that it was excellent!
The hotel itself is quite a way from the town centre but does overlook the sea and is in a most pleasant location. Very quiet and peaceful. it's obviously a fairly mature building so it does have lots of character. I would say it does seem to attract its regulars, if I'm any judge so that speaks volumes really. The fact that our stay was approximately half the price of a leading hotel in Scarborough itself was very interesting!
We will most certainly add it to our "Favourites" list..

On entering the reception of this hotel it smelled very musty. The lift was a double door opening outwards and then a gate type slider very dangerous contraption. The room was dismal dark and dingy and not clean, the bathroom had so much mildew it was sickening. The toilet was dirty, the valance on the bed was black at the bottom, the pillowcase had a hole in it. The towels were thin and had seen better days. The cost of this hotel is definitely too high if I had been able to get a refund I would have walked away and not stayed here.
