Directions to Barbican House
From the A59 Once on the A59, ignore signs directing you to turn left for York City. When you reach Blossom Street, turn left and then right at Nunnery Lane. Turn left onto Bishopgate and keep on the main road with the City Wall on your left until you reach Paragon Street and the front of the Barbican Centre. At the the corner of Paragon Street and Barbican Road, turn right and you will immediately see Barbican House. From the A64 Once on the A64, keep on that road until you come to the SELBY and YORK A19 slip road (don’t follow the “A19 - THIRSK” sign which is before the SELBY sign). Once on the A19 proceed north passing through Fulford and look out for the Army Barracks on the right. Then follow the fork right sign for Hospital. This will take you along Cemetery Road. The name changes to Barbican Road after the first set of traffic lights. The Barbican House is approximately 100 yards further on and is on the right hand side immediately before the next set of traffic lights.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone i know. We go to york every year and would book this hotel again. Our experience at this hotel was fantastic. When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was fantastic from the fruit platter to the full English breakfast. The host recommend several restaurants for you to try. |

This hotel made our weekend. Anne and Adrian were both very friendly and helpful. The room was an excellent standard and very clean. There were some very nice touches too, well stocked bathroom, tea and coffee with biscuits. The complimentary sherry was most welcome after a cold day walking around York. By far the best bit for me was the breakfast, top ingredients prepared very well and plenty of it. It set us up for the day's activities. I would definitely go back to this hotel. |

We couldn't fault this guest house. Adrian and Ann made us feel very welcome. We stayed in a suite across the road from the guest house which was lovely so cannot comment on the rooms in the house but imagine they would be to the same standard. Breakfast excellent and location excellent as it is a short walk into the city of York itself. We will definitely stay again. |

We found this B&B to be totally delightful. The owners were very friendly and helpful and suggested places to eat and places to visit. The room that we had very well decorated and the bathroom was like a show piece. It was even better than some of the chain 4 star hotels that I have stayed at. I would definitely recommend it if you are visiting York, |
