Having booked a late checkin my wife and i arrive much later than anticipated. However a quick call to Rowena previously meant that she had arranged for the Chef to stay behind for us so we could have some food. My wife was tired as we had had a long tiring journey. Rowena could not do enough for us to make sure we had a rapid checkin and got to our room. The room was fantastic (number 3). It was actually a family room that could sleep 4 with an extremely comfortable double bed and 2 further full size single beds. There is an en-suite bathroom and I am happy to report the shower there is wonderful. Rarely have we stayed in an hotel where no matter what time of day you take a shower there is ample very hot water. Breakfast was excellent and they went the extra mile making my wife a special omlette with no trouble. We also ate there one evening where the food again was extremely good, the restaurant being full with diners. The atmosphere was topped off with live music that really created a great atmosphere.
In conclusion all I can say is that Rowena (and her husband Steve) made our stay special because they went the extra mile to accommodate our wishes and requests. Even though Rowena was extremely busy in the run up to Christmas she would always make sure we were well looked after. Just stay there and see what a great place they are running!
