I had stayed here before with a colleague, and it was still under construction. This construction was finished on my most recent visit. The hotel is a real gem and the room in particular is really comfortable. The use of wood everywhere is really nice, and adds a homeliness to the place. The restaurant is obviously top notch, food was excellent and cooked really well, but personally, even though I have a very broad taste in food, I found the menu to be slightly OTT, with too little choice of more basic food. It's great to have unusual gourmet food available, but I don't think the menu caters enough for a less broad taste. Therefore, perhaps an "a la carte" menu could be made available for a broader selection. Also, on the day I arrived, I had a meeting in the reception area, which I found very cold. I suspect there was an issue with the heating system, as there were electric heaters plugged in also. Overall this is a really great spot to stay in, and very convenient for Stansted Airport. I will visit again in a few months, as I feel issues, such as the heating, will be resolved. This is still a very new hotel, but well worth a visit. |

This hotel was ideal for us as we were leaving early in the morning from Stanstead and wanted to travel up and stay somehwere the night before. It was a great location and only cost 10 pounds in a cab to get to the airport. The staff were very efficient and helpful. They also allowed us to leave our car for 3 nights which is why we didn't question the 70 pounds they charged us as opposed to the 65 we were quoted by laterooms. |

The room was good value at Late Rooms price very comfortable. If I am being critical the bath towels and the bath robes provided were a bit mean in size and quality. They said breakfast available from 7.00 but were surprised when I turned up at 7.30 although they did provide breakfast. |
