We stayed at the Arundel House Whitby for three nights, the B&B now seems to be run by a Spanish family, who, I’m sure are very nice people, they did not seem to interact with the guests. We were met at the door then kept waiting at the door while the young lady went off through the back to check our booking. A little while later she returned got us to fill in the registration form, we were given the key and that was it. We found our room on the second floor, which turned out to be a bit of a struggle for me getting the luggage up to, that perhaps was my own fault; I should have requested a room on a lower level. |

Good location 5 minutes' walk from Whitby, beautiful old Georgian mansion that appeared little changed since it was built. Rooms full of original features and interesting little quirks. As such the place could do with a bit of modernising or at least some TLC. Breakfast was good, very friendly and welcoming. Recommended. |

The position of the hotel was good, just a short walk to the town centre. We stayed in the captain cook room, and although it had ensuite facilities I wouldn't advise you to stay in this room if you are over 9 stone as it is very difficult to manouver around the wash basin to sit on the loo. breakfast was o.k but not great. good for just a one night stay. |
