The Chapel Guest House

The Old Chapel Carthew, St Austell

The Chapel Guest House is a converted, former Methodist Chapel, dating from 1862. Set in a wooded valley, just north of St Austell, we are 3 miles from the Eden Project, 11 miles from the Lost Gardens of Helligan and yet only 10 minutes from the A30, giving easy access to all the other Cornish places of interest. The Chapel makes a great centre for touring. We provide spacious, comfortable rooms (double, twin or single) in a relaxed atmosphere. Most rooms have en-suite facilities, and all have colour TV with DVD, clock radio and tea/coffee making facilities. Wi-Fi internet access is available in all rooms. A tasty full English breakfast is served along with cereals, toast, fruit juice, tea and coffee, but other menu options are available, including vegetarian.

Incredibly easy to find and close to all the attractions. Wonderful couple that manage the B&B & overall a lovely setting. Rooms are of a fantastic standard and very neat. Breakfast is brilliant with the best poached eggs I have ever tasted! Vegetarian options for breakfast is excellent! Overall a wonderful stay and will definitely be returning with friends and family!

Chris and Wendy only opened the Chapel Guest House earlier this year. They have done a remarkable job in preparing the Old Chapel for guests. It is impossible to speak too highly of this Guest House and the hosts. The room was perfect in every way and the en- suite beautifully appointed. The breakfasts were superb: Wendy was happy to accommodate every wish and Chris played "mine host" very well: always ready to converse but never intrude. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this Guest House. The nearby pub also provided good, basic food at affordable prices too. We're only sorry that we live some 500 miles from Carthew: other wise we would be staying here more often.

Me and my partner booked this hotel due to it's close location to the Eden project and being close to the main towns in Cornwall. I have to say that it was the best B&B i've ever stayed in. Chris and Wendy are very friendly and welcoming and even though we arrived early we were given coffee and teas after our long journey before being shown to our room. Great location, wonderful clean rooms with good facilities - I can't fault it and I hope to stay there again in the future.
