Rhone Villa

Gretna Green, Gretna

Iain and Alison Fergusson look forward to inviting you for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The property is a detached house built in the 1920’s for a local farmer and has off street parking to the rear of the property. There is also a large garden for guests to relax in. It once was a bank and was also the residence of the Captain of a Canadian shipping line. It was bought by the Blair family in 1949 and now operates as a bed and breakfast. Evening meals are available and can be included or added later should you wish.
We hope you will arrive as strangers but leave as friends
Rhone Villa is across the road from Gretna Hall Hotel Blacksmiths Shop and marriage room and three minutes from the Old Blacksmiths Shop complex which consists of a food hall, Tartan and Tweed shop, Border Fine Arts, glass shop and Pringle Knitwear. Less than five mins from Gretna Green Railway Station. By prior arrangement we can organise to collect you. There are various buses which can take you as far afield as Carlisle, Lockerbie and Moffat.
It is an ideal base for touring the surrounding area. A visit to the Lake District is a must. Why not a shopping trip to Newcastle an hour and a half by car or take a day trip by train. Glasgow is also an hour and half away or Edinburgh two hours away.
We have been awarded a Tourism Scotland 3 star grading . All our rooms are comfortably furnished and include hot drink making facilities as well as colour TV, en-suite facilities and iced water, fresh fruit upon your arrival.
We apologise that we are unable to accept families or children this is an unfortunate decision based on safety issues which we take very seriously.
** Please note we will be unable to confirm bookings before 6pm between 29th September 2008 and 13th October 2008 we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Iain and Alison are a friendly and helpful couple who made us very welcome. The room was very fresh, clean and comfortable. We had an evening meal and breakfast (very good selection on the menu) and the food was cooked fresh and was very tasty. We would definately recommend this B & B to anyone and would certainly stay here again.

A very welcoming environment. House was warm and comfortable. Bedroom was spacious, but would have liked a slightly larger shower cubicle.
Food was excellent.....lots of it too. I was pleasantly surprised by the range of dishes available. Those we ate were very enjoyable.
We were given lots of information about what was to be sen in the area, and a description of some of it's history. Iain and Allison could not have done anything more to make our stay enjoyable.
I'll be back to try some different dishes next time!

This is an excellent place to stay. The food is excellent. Iain and Alison are great hosts. When finding the hotel, use the written instructions. Finding it using a sat-nav can be a challenge! Entering the postcode , a satnav will keep trying to put you on the motorway as that is the post code positioning.
