The Oak at Baginton is a lovely pub/hotel and we enjoyed our stay very much. We would have no hesitation in coming back again when we next visit the area or go to an exhibition at the Birmingham NEC. We would also recommed it to our friends. Unfortunately we did not have an evening meal there but would definitely do that next time. the breakfast was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the fact that is seemed to be a freehouse rather than part of a chain. It was lovely to see the Continental style of pumps for both the Stella Artois and Leffe lagers (the latter in particular was excellent and a lager to be savoured).

I thought it was great that we were able to take dogs. However the only downfall to the cleanliness of the room was that there was still dog hair on the carpets.

The night I stayed there were a number of guests with dogs (was there a dog show locally?)
It didn’t worry me too much but the owners left the dogs in the rooms and the dogs (as you would expect) barked This could have stopped people enjoying a rest after a hard days work.
Other than that I felt welcome and the staff were helpful and friendly

Outstanding for the price.
The Oak in Baginton is a comfortable and welcoming hotel with bar/restaurant.
It is situated just next to Coventry Airport, but we weren't disturbed by any flights during the night, or indeed in the mornings.
The pub is often busy and had karaoke and pub quizes on while we were there. If that's not to your taste then don't worry - the hotel part of the Oak is actually in a separate building, and you won't be disturbed.
We travelled as a group and all of the rooms that I saw were large. Some of the rooms on the top floor posed a problem in that sloped ceilings were too intrusive for some members - especially in the bathrooms where not all rooms had a full height shower, or full length bath, so do enquire before you book.
The breakfast is brilliant and you'd expect to pay £4-5 for it in a regular pub, but it being included in the price was amazing. There's a lot of choice, and it runs for several hours each morning.
The on site food is also very nice and not tremendously expensive. The quality beers on tap are varied and offer excellent choice - your usual lagers, but also things like Leffe are included.
Finally, the staff are very welcoming and it seemed like they couldn't do enough to accommodate us.
It's not the most lavish hotel, but it was a pleasure to stay and I'd definately do so again.
