Lovely hotel in quiet peaceful location. Ideal for exploring either Devon or Cornwall. Very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a deluxe room which was gorgeous with fantastic furnishings and amazing bathroom and shower. Breakfast and the staff were great. Easy to find just followed the instuctions on here. Would highly recommend. |

Recently renovated and very fine traditional 19 century house with beautiful rooms and gardens. no bar but you can get a drink if you ring the bell anytime of the day. Breakfast was excellent. Evening meal in the Italien themed restaurant was a diss-appointement and reminded me of a sketch from fawlty towers. I can only assume that the normal chef was on holiday as there was a set menu (not even a steak available). The starter was advertised with caramelised onion sauce but didn't have one as the chef said "it hadn't cooled down enough!". The spag bog and lasagne was not as good as that available from LIDL and had no taste. Bread sticks in a packet were put on the table, with not fresh bread on offer and no water was put out so not very traditional. My advice would be to simplify the menu and offer something for children rather than complicated Italien food. Still recommend it but check the full menu is available if you wish to eat. |
