The accommodation was clean, comfortable and warm and the staff were very friendly but don't eat in the restaurant if you are on a diet!! The food is very well prepared and presented. Overall I am of the view that it was very good value and the view of the car park from the bedroom window didn't bother me in the slightest!

I really liked this place. The staff were all warm and friendly. The food was very nice. My only issue was that I didn't have room for desert after I ate my mixed grill. What was on offer sounded very nice.

we found the hotel owners to be very friendly, the food was good and plenty of it, the room we had was very nice with a good sized bathroom and we thought it very good value for money.

Thornton-Le-Moor is an attractive village, but the Black Swan doesn't really match its surroundings. the room was clean, the staff were friendly, the restaurant was very full and the food good value. The main disappointment though was the price and the view from the room. £69 for what was quite a small room with a view of a large air extractor from the kitchen below, an expanse of flat roof and a concrete car park with a caravan and transit van doesn't give you the feeling that you've treated yourself to something special. Top tip, keep the curtains closed.
