Hotel was easy to find, nice location, room looked brand new, extremely clean & comfortable. Didn't try the food. One minus point - room was very very hot even with no heating on and window open. May be nice & cosy in winter, but stifling in summer.

Easy to find hotel about 4 miles from Keswick. Staff very friendly and considerate, rooms good quality. Meals are restaurant quality and priced accordingly. Cheaper food is available in the Riverside Bar in Rossthwaite village (about 1 mile, accepts dogs, children,hikers etc.)

The room was not at all superior, as had been booked !! Looked like a 70's throwback. Stained wallpaer (Water!!), a very sad bathroom and a general feel of shabbiness. Not at all what was expected for £130-odd a nite. Given the pictures that are shown on their website, it was ver, very dissappointing. Also, breakfast finishes at 9:30am.....On a SUNDAY !!!!! The staff were polite & friendly enough but, in summary, very, very poor for the money.....
