we paid extra for a superior room but were given a small box room, our friends room was much larger and when we questioned this at reception they said it was right, and no discount or basic room price offered. Very dissapointed with breakfast food both days never had full breakfast on and on the second day extremely short staffed and had over 30min wait for breakfast. |

Hotel was comfortable and bedroom was clean but whole place is seriously in need of some serious cash spent on maintenance. Had reservations about fire safety due to fire doors being all propped open. Don't stay here if you can be overcome by a surplus of tartan! Staff were friendly , good value for money. |

Being constructive one can say this hotel has a great location and is well signposted. It says 'Inn' rather than 'Hotel' outside and perhaps standards vary but as the fourth of four places stayed during the week this was a huge disappointment. The room was very poorly set out, no floor space to put a case (I put one of two chairs on the top of the cupboard), one plug to far from a mirror to reach. bed was comfortable enough but furniture was MDF kit style and wobbled. The food was nice enough, interesting menu. But the staff clearly not trained to a standard one has come to expect from places described as 3 star. This is a building with huge charm and great potential. It needs some investment perhaps but most of all it needs a designers eye. As such a designer I'm perhaps prejudiced but this was clearly a case of 'less would be more' and the management could usefully tone down the excess tartan motive, think a little about room layout and structure and spend just a little time of staff training. It could be fantastic. It wasn't. |

What a pleasurable experience it was staying here. The outside colour scheme may not be everyone's cup of tea, but once inside the decor is very in keepig with the age of the building. The reception staff were very polite and friendly. |
