The room was shabby in places and all of the fittings and furnishings was very dated. On arrival I discovered that my room (231) had a strong 'musty' smell to it. I reported this on leaving the hotel for the evening and explained that I had left the window open. The smell remained when I returned though I went straight to bed at that point. It was still there in the morning and so I reported it on check out. The porter said that he would 'take a look shortly' which was no help to me. I received no offer of being moved to another room or any kind of offer to compensate me such as a reduction in room rate or breakfast included. The lady who checked me in was lovely but it all went down hill from there... |

In general the hotel was very good value for money. Unfortunately there was a great deal of noise outside the room all night with doors banging , especially the fire doors in the passage way, making it difficult for continuous sleep. |

This is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, but the smell of people smoking is in the room and even stronger in the hallways. |
