First impressions are of a very old and interesting town pub but you soon realise that there is more to this place than first impressions. Following a really welcoming greeting on arrival the room was a real delight. To the rear of the pub and very recently completed it has everything you'd wish for, plenty of room, good controllable warmth or cool air, a great shower room, nice lcd tv, good coffee/tea etc and a really comfy bed. On arrival you are offered a free drink and in the morning you get a really good breakfast choice. In between there are loads of places to walk to for a good meal. The only downside is the parking which is restricted in the yard beside the pub. Found a note on my car from a disgruntled neighbour as i had obviously misunterstood where i could park.

A very nice stay. The room was excellent, very comfortable with a nice bathroom.
We were welcomed with a drink and the pub is a good local with well kept real ales available.
The fried breakfast was very good but three TVs showing cartoons was unnecessary.
There are some excellent restaurants within a very short walk.

What a find! This hotel is brilliant. Beautifully refurbished rooms with plasma TV & free wifi in a 16th century inn. Best of both worlds. Staff charming & helpful, breakfast delicious. Only slight problem was finding car park. Otherwise - thoroughly recommended.
