The Crown Inn

The Crown Inn Frampton Mansell, Gloucestershire

Nestling in the Cotswold village of Frampton Mansell lies the Crown Inn. A seventeenth century ‘cider house’ that is steeped in history and is, quite simply, a perfect village pub. A truly picturesque building, it encapsulates everything a quintessential English pub should be - roaring log fires, delicious, traditional, home-cooked food, fine, locally brewed real ales, a stunningly beautiful building dating from 1633 and of course, good company! Add to this a very well appointed 12-bedroom hotel annex, ample car parking and simply exquisite views across the golden valley and you have the precise recipe for a relaxing and enjoyable venue. Do come and spend some time with us…..we would love to see you.

Used this hotel for a business stopover instead of normal bland chain hotels.
Rooms in the annexe are comfortable and clean with the great advantage of being only 20yds walk from the very pleasant pub.
The pub is simply and tastefully restored with open fires, well kept beer, friendly and attentive service with imaginative and reasonably priced food.
Service was good, with no quibble when I was delivered the wrong main course.
Great for a few days if you want a comfortable room with a charming pub on hand. Is in a small village 6 miles from Stroud so a car is needed.

We stayed here as a 1 night getaway (2 young children stayed at home with grandparents) and found the pub to be very cosy with roaring log fires very good food (generous portions and good price), staff were attentive and pleasant. Accomodation is in the annexe of the inn and is clean and recently refurbed to a good standard for the price, although lacks a little of the personal touch which would benefit it. I would deinitely stay again. Note to owners, doors to the bedrooms close very noisily particularly at midnight and would benefit some noise dampers on them. Dont spoil a fanatastic breakfast by serving up cheap catering brown sauce.

The staff were very accomodating in light of our early arrival, and the inevitable menu change requests at breakfast that a party of six threw at them. Some of us were lucky to be allocated a newly refurbished room, and others not so lucky, but hopefully they will all be refurbished soon.
