After initial confusion - the reception was closed - i tracked down the security guard & he had my details to check me in. Very friendly & escorted me straight to my room. the rooms are basic student accommodation with NO FRILLS! I had planned ahead and brought my on towel & toiletries.. The rooms would benefit from a glass or plastic cup for water though... especially for re-hydration - these rooms make a clean & fairly convenient solution for someone looking to simply have a place to sleep for the night.. forget it if you are looking for any 'hotel' style facilities. Overnight it was quiet (train track very close but room was well sound insulated). |

the office was only open to collect keys on the weekend between 1-2pm which we were not told about beforehand so if we had arrived outside those hours it would have been inconvenient for us to get the keys! also, the room was not prepared properly - there was NO bedding, toilet roll or extra pillow - it wasn't at all prepared for 2 people to be staying there. i wouldn't stay here again, even if I'm on a short visit as the preparation of the room was very poor. |

Rooms were basic - but what do you want for £35. Ideal if you a just spending a night on the town. Short walk / taxi into the city (1 mile). The room was quiet and clean - excellent value for money. |

I knew it was going to be basic, being university accommodation, but I would have expected at least: a toilet roll, a bar of soap and a couple of towels. The windows did not open fully (presumably for security) and the room was stuffy. The night watchman was on the phone outside for hours during the night, keeping us awake, The bed was awful - thin and lumpy mattress and very uncomfortable. The base of the shower was warped as water had got underneath. Not all of the lights worked. The only plus was convenient location next to the business school where I was visiting colleagues. |
